Frozen Tarakihi and Kura Kai – plus triple points for you!
$1 per kg of all Frozen Tarakihi sales this week will go to Preston’s Charity Champion, Kura Kai. Plus get triple points when you shop this product in store!
Kura Kai lives by the value of manaakitanga with a simple kaupapa of “whānau cooking for whānau”.
Locally they support Porirua College, Mana College, Bishop Viard College, Te Kura Māori o Porirua, Naenae College, Wainuiomata High School, and Queen Margaret College.
They do this by raising funds to purchase chest freezers, which they donate to the High Schools they support. They then build a local community of volunteers who give their time, money and resources to cook nutritious family meals to help keep the freezers well stocked.
Each School is then responsible for identifying the need and distributing the meals to support rangatahi and their whanau.
They rescue and redistribute good quality surplus food from 90 food businesses in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Te Awa Kairangi, Kāpiti and Horowhenua – connecting good kai with 140 charities and community groups supporting people in need.
